What to Expect
At Holy Trinity and Hope our services are liturgical. That means that our services follow an order handed down to us from the church before us. We take the words of the Bible, God’s own words, and we speak them back to Him in confession of our sin, prayer, and praise. We hear God speak to us through the absolution of our sins, and the Bible readings. The sermon calls us to repentance and proclaims the forgiveness of sins in the name of Jesus Christ. We use the ancient creeds of the church–the Apostles’, Nicene, or Athanasian Creeds–in all our services. Our hymns come from the Lutheran Service Book and are accompanied by the organ at the hands of our talented musicians.
You can join us on Sundays at Holy Trinity, Inglis at 9 am or Hope, Grandview 11:30 am for worship. We love having the little ones sitting with us in the service. The church is the family of God, and that includes those little ones.
Christ makes Himself present among us through His Word and the sacraments (Holy Baptism and the Sacrament of the Altar). We remember our Baptism, in which Jesus cleansed us with water and the Word. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper, in which Jesus comes to us with His body and blood for Christians to eat and drink.
Because we believe that the Lord Jesus gives us His body and blood in the Sacrament of the Altar, our parish practices closed communion. If you are visiting, please make sure you speak with our pastor before the service.
